Coconut oil in your shampoo and conditioner?

So, as an experiment I added my favorite oil (coconut) to my shampoo, conditioner and leave-in.

Shampoo: Selsun Blue

Conditioner: TRESemme Anti-Sponge

Leave-In: Cantu Shea butter

While the Selsun works well for my dandruff, it can be a bit drying, which us why I dilute it, and more recently, add coconut oil.

The result? More moisturised hair and better looking hairstyles, in my opinion.

The conditioners (rinse-out and leave-in), felt fluffy and… Continue

D Fro life

Woiii! I love my natural hair . Currently rocking a shaved head that's 4 weeks grown in . I went natural in 2011 because I was led by my interest in knowing what my real hair looked like.I got my first chemical treatment, wave nouveau at age 9 turned out into a chemical Fro of curls lol .then relaxer at at age 10 .I remembered my hair always in cornrows prior to that just never out in its glorious form.

The reintroduction to my beautiful hair was overwhelming and renewing. It brought light… Continue

Beauty Day Sunday FAIL: Coconut Milk Deep Conditioner

I was so excited to try a new protein deep conditioner recipe, but based on my experience I’ll chalk this one up as an epic fail!

I started my wash day a little later in the day yesterday due to my thrifting trip.

I began…

Oh, No She Didn’t!

Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to be taken on a weekend cruise for my birthday by my aunt. It was a great mini-get away. The boat stopped in Freeport Bahamas for the day and we went to Lucaya Beach.  I was LOVIN my bush that day and I let it hang out! I’d received many compliments from various people on the boat and I just knew my fro was #everything! So I’m hanging out…

Freedom

It has now been several months, since I decided to go natural.  Some would say since I had my own hair in braids for the last ten years, I was already natural.  For me, I beg to differ.  My whole attitude has changed.  I feel free, wonderful and natural.  This is what I started with and and this is what I will end up with.  I feel liberated,up to a certain point.  I have yet to take a picture of my new glorious…

My Hair Diary

I did the Big Chop three times starting in the year of 2010 and the third one was pretty recent. I decided to let my third chop be the last. This stage usually drives me to cut it all off again but I'm finding cool natural hairstyles for every length. I decided to…

For the 4 Weeks, I've been on travel non-stop; I have been neglectful in posting my updates for the challenge. Though I have been a full participant, wearing only protective styles and taken pictures to show the style, I haven't been updating like I should have.
