Today marks one month protective styling and I'm doing quite good :)
I absolutely love playing with different loose hair styles, so keeping it in updo's most of the time was a bit hard. But I'm getting better with leaving my hair alone throughout the day, so that's an improvement. I'm not doing a length check already because I think the difference would just be too small. Stay tuned for that in about two…

Lately, I've seen a lot of protective styling challenges on natural hair blogs, Youtube and other websites. A protective hairstyle is basically a hairstyle where most (or all) of the ends of your hair are tucked in and protected against the elements and over manipulation. Most of the times in some kind of updo.…

I like to say that I've been natural my entire life.

A month after my college graduation in 2008, I jumped on the dreadlocks train. It felt liberating to just do what ever I wanted with my…

Hello lovelies! So as some of you might know from my Blog and YouTube Channel, I do not use heat on my hair. I have never been good with a flat iron or hair dryer (back in my relaxed hair days) so I am pretty sure I would fry my hair (not an option!) But I do look at different ways to stretch my hair WITHOUT heat and Braid-Outs seem to do a decent job. I generally stretch my hair as a "prep" to Twist, Bantu-Knot etc but I do sometimes wear my hair in a fluffed out Braid-Out like in the…Continue

How to Keep Hair Healthy and Manageable During Winter Months
Indoor heating and daily blow-drying, common perils of the winter season, can leave hair deprived of moisture. Plus, winter hats can cause flat and static-filled hair. Here's how to avoid those bad hair days.
1. Get a haircut or trim by mid-autumn to remove any damage caused by the summer elements. Follow with a deep-conditioning treatment to replenish moisture loss, and repeat once or…Continue

Ok. Right about now my hair is like right above my areolas (awkward information I suppose) but when its completely dry its at my chin. i put it in 2 braided ponytails and its helllllllaaaaaa short like -___- So if my hairs going to keep doing this how else do you ladies combat shrinkage? cause everything i've done so far has been a fail by now.
I have always probably like most, felt like my fro was not as attractive as when my hair was straight, or when I had weave and still to this day at times I have doubts, I've tried being natural several times and often give into "the weave" but I feel so motivated this time and I have been on a journey to be content with myself as a whole and that includes my hair in its natural state! So I'm using this site as a little fall back for when I have the natural doubts...because lord knows I will…Continue
