Wow Glenda, It looks awesome!! You can definitely see the growth. How many times did you re-do the mini-braids? And how long did you keep them in each time?

Okay, the ladies of the health challenge are putting us to shame, lol. They're so focused and motivated (see it here: http://bglhforum.com/forum/topics/anyone-down-for-a-workout-challen...)

 

Maybe we need someone to be the ambassador/moderator/ringleader of our protective styling challenge so we don't fall off the rails. What do you think?

hey ladies - i began the challenge around 7/1 and so far i havent quite accumulated 1 inch per month but it has grown significantly. when you only have 5in you gotta get really creative... i usually put about 10-12 box braids in and pin then randomly or do some kind of braided corn row style leaving the front portion out for variety - how's everyone else progressing?

well, my twisted up do only lasted a week and a half, but it created a really cute twist out.

I'm in!!! I know its a little late but who cares. I've been rocking this style for 2days and its holding up pretty well! I'm going to wear this style for 1wk and a half.

I'm joining the group a bit late! This is a great idea, I love this blog and I'm happy this forum exists now :)

Well, I already do protective styles with flat twists and braids and my hair grows fast but I manipulate my hair too much for proper rentention. At the most I make it to 2 weeks before my hair looks too scruffy. I'm going to do box braids for the challenge. These should be ideal as I can wash and condition with them in for several weeks not just 2. My only worry is styling the braids to suit my uneven lengths (long in back, shorter in front: mullet!) I plan to do them this Sunday on the 10th take them out on the 3rd of September!
