Hi Ladies! I have engaged in a personal no heat challenge and I have decided to invite others to join me. I started my challenge November 30,2012 of last year and will end November 30, 2013. You all are welcome to join me in this challenge whether you choose to do a year or just a few months. When you have selected your amount of time there are a few things you need to keep in mind:
- Moisture : keep hair moisturized so you can retain as much length as possible
- Deep Conditioning : to maintain the health of your hair
- Plenty Water we are supposed to consume half of our body weight in ounces of water daily! (Example : 140lbs ean 70oz of water)
- Health from Inside, Out : when your insides are health your outsides will be too
- Protective Styling : protective styling can help protect your hair and help you with length retention
When embarking on this challenge set a goal that you would like to reach so you have motivation to reach that goal! When you join this challenge comment with your current length and your goal length. During the challenge feel free to upload length check pictures, share what youre doing to maintain the health of your hair and your length ,and share any other comments and concerns.

Comment by kendra millington on May 1, 2013 at 10:26pm I will try that but my hair is chin length and I am worried the curlformers will make my hair look shorter instead of longer. Maybe ill steal my roommates lol or get her to try them on me.

Comment by Leah C on April 21, 2013 at 10:48pm One thing that keeps me from giving in to heat is thinking about the risk of heat damage/losing my curls. Just keep fighting the urge, you can do it (:

Comment by Wesneida Ashley Archelus on April 12, 2013 at 7:16pm Hey, everyone. I'm a newbie to this website and a newbie at being FULLY natural and chemical/relaxer free! I transitioned for about 27 months and BC'd last week on my own! I have not used HEAT since November 10, 2012. I'm graduating as a Senior in high school this June so IDK if I wanna use heat or not. I actually don't want to use heat but I wouldn't know what else to do. Any advice/suggestions would be cool... :)
AND HAPPY HAIR JOURNEY TO YOU ALL. God bless!

Comment by Leah C on March 6, 2013 at 11:48pm Hi! I'm currently at APL when stretched, but my goal is for my curly hair to be APL. I got a little addicted to blowouts in January, found out how bad of an idea that was, and decided to take a nice lengthy break from heat. So I'm planning to avoid heat - even diffusing - until my birthday in Sept, when I usually straighten my hair.
Good luck to you guys! (:
