This group is dedicated to retaining length via the Deep Moisture Method.
Basically, it is a way of protective styling. This technique has garnered some amazing results. In fact, 1 woman went from TWA to waist length in 4 yrs another arm pit length to bra strap in 2 months and collar bone length to armpit length.......

I have been intrigued with the deep moisture method after reading about a poster going from TWA to waist length in a few years. My mom is stretching her relaxer for 8 months so far and her hair has…Continue

Comment by Sheena on January 25, 2013 at 5:28pm Iv been struggling with super dry hair after shampoo and deem wash day the saddest day ever. Since iv eliminated shampoo, my hair is noticeably better off. Sheena's Hair Care uses Hydrate to cleanse and re-hydrate the scalp between washes - making the shampoo process completely useless. Eliminating shampoo and strictly co-washing, as needed, has changed the game for me. (i will shampoo if using silicone based products gels or non natural/organic ingredients in my hair)
Comment by Sheena on December 27, 2012 at 9:38pm Wash day is the saddest day for me. Does anyone else feel this way? It's like, ive been nourishing and moisturizing the days in-between and the wash signifies the letting go of all that good stuff. My moisture method prefers prolonged days between "washing". While regularly cleansing & re-hydrating my scalp, Im nourishing and building the cuticle of my hair to retain length and keep my hair strong.

Comment by Madamenoire on January 9, 2012 at 7:08pm @Barbara Thanks. Yeah, I have to let my hair take a break from that. It is so delicate, so easy to break. It;s gotten better with the vitamin supplements and low maintenance protective styles. The scarf you are wearing in the picture is beautiful. I should do that more.
Comment by Cheryl Vargas-Galanek on January 9, 2012 at 7:06pm Also, I found this post on this site in answer to the glycerin issue. You scared me there for a minute.
Oyin Handmade deals with the issue of people being hesitant and scared to use glycerin in the winter or in times when water molecules are not present in the air. Their solution??? Water + Glycerin
Check out their post here http://oyinhandmade.com/2010/10/11/dont-be-scared-of-glycerin/

Keep this in mind ladies. What regimes are you going to do in the upcoming winter?
Comment by Cheryl Vargas-Galanek on January 9, 2012 at 7:05pm I never heard the myth about glycerin, Barbara. I just know that it feels fabulous on my hair and I love it as an overall hair, face and body treatment along with a little coconut oil and castor.
