Hello everybody!I thought it would be cool to do a very quick, not invasive intros post so that we can start networking with other naturals in the area. You don't have to share too much, just first…Continue

Meet up?

I wanted to put the idea out for a meet up. Of course, this would happen sometime next year, but I wanted to see if there was any interest out there.

Do you buy any staple hair products from grocery/specialty stores? This might help someone who is looking for a hard-to-find product in stores like raw shea butter or black soap.Continue

Hi all I'm Chelle from VA....I've been natural almost 2 years in May 2013..I didn't do the BC, I just slowly cut off the permed ends over time..I have thick 4a/ 4b KINKY, COILY hair!!!..My hair never gets soft or stay soft for a long period of time regardless of what I do thou I have not tried all the oils that I would like to. Being natural has turned me into a true DIVA. Everywhere I go I get questions and compliments...I mostly wear my hair in braids or afro puffs, but i'm about to try a full lace or a full sew in for my Bday...Once you go natural you never go back LOL...Now I didn't say it was a piece of cake!!!!

G'day ladies. I go by Doxy and I've been natural for about...geeze...7 or 8 years now? Since my BC I haven't straightened my hair so I have no idea how long it is; all I know is that my husband says I have too much of it. LOL! I work in McLean VA and live in Reston, so I look forward to coming to some meets up if there are any. Cheers!

Hey everyone, I'm new to this group and new to naturalness. My name is LaRhonda and I live in Hampton, VA. I have soooo many questions about all things natural and could really use some help. Is there anyone near the 757 area?

I'm glad to see this group on here! I swear the DMV has the most natural ladies I've seen in a long time.A little about me...... I'm going to grad school in Kansas. So everytime I come home its refreshing to see beautiful black people because needless to say Kansas is lacking in that area. I've been natural since highschool. And i'll be honest it wasn't always pretty Butnow I feel like I've arrived. I'm growing in to my beauty and embrace my curls everyday.

Hey everyone!

I'm currently a senior in college and have been natural for the last 3 years. Lately I've taken to protective styling as a means of keeping my hair healthy (and to cut down on styling time each day) but now it seems as though my hair isn't growing as much as it used to. Any suggestions for moisturizing my hair while it's in twists/braids? I have a lot of hair and my main goal is to be able to care for my hair without it taking a whole afternoon.

Also, I've had some trouble finding a place near my school (University of Maryland-College Park) that I can feel comfortable with anyone trimming my ends. If anyone knows a good place in the College Park/DC area please let me know!

Hello everyone!!! My name is Amari and I'm new to the natural world! I'm 18 and live in the baltimore area. I have about an inch of natural hair and (unfortunately) nine to ten inches of relaxed hair that is just a dead mess. My mom won't let me cut it :( Today I experienced my first negativity with an attempted twist out. I was never popular in school so those type of comments just roll off like water on wax. But this comment came from a family member and I just can't shake it off. Can someone give me some tips on how to deal with these types of things or point me in the direction of transitioning hairstyles? It will be greatly appreciated :)

Hello Everyone! I'm Tanaira and I'm new to the site. I thought it would be cool to talk to other people who have long hair and have similar struggles and delights. I hope everyone's having a fabulous day!
